Prices are not negotiable.Return to Top BTS vs CON: In the brass department: Items owned by Bruce?s Train Shop are noted as BTS and may be put on lay-a-way ($200.00 minimum). CON indicates that the model is a consignment item and may not be placed on lay-a-way.Return to Top Lay-a-way Our lay-a-way policy is simple. Three months, three payments. If more time is required, let us know. We can usually work something out to meet your needs. Without any modified agreement, failure to complete payments on a model on time will result in the model being returned to stock,and a restocking fee of 20% of the total price including tax being deducted from any refund.Return to Top Payment Methods: We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit cards, checks, money orders, and bank drafts in U.S. currency. Customers current phone numbers (home and work) and address must appear on all orders being paid by check. If you have an unlisted phone number, we will respect your privacy and only call you if it becomes absolutely necessary. Returned checks are processed by NDC/CheckRite and are subject to a minimum $25 fee.Return to Top Mail Order Brass Sales are satisfaction guaranteed: (except for Layaways which are not exchangeable or refundable). Returns: A refund or credit will be provided if the item is returned by the customer within ten (10) days from the date of sale. A telephone call or fax explaining the circumstances causing the return is necessary in order to receive a return authorization number which is required on all returns, whether it be for refund, exchange or repair. This must also be done within the ten (10) days from the date of sale. A copy of the sales invoice is required, a 10% restock fee will be charged if a copy of the invoice is not included with the return. We cannot refund shipping expenses, because model owners are paid 20 to 30 days after the date of sale, all returned models must be received by us no later than 18 days after date of sale. Please purchase "As-Is" items with the understanding that the item is damaged and in need of repair. Non-factory electronics such as lights, sound, command control, etc, are not covered under Bruce?s Train Shop satisfaction guarantee policy for repair, but you may still return the model for refund or exchange.Return to Top Shipping and Handling: USA: UPS minimum is $8.50 for items up to (4) pounds. Items over 4 pounds will be charged an additional $5.00 or exact freight, which ever is higher. Hawaii, Alaska, and Foreign countries are charged the exact freight charged to us by the shipper plus the $5.00 handling fee. Insurance is extra. USA customers please provide a street shipping address for UPS. UPS will not ship to a P.O. Box . Please include your telephone number with ALL orders. There is a minimum $20.00 charge for shipping of train sets. Some foreign countries make us collect a $25.00 surcharge. Insurance Liability Coverage: US Postal Service (surface or air): maximum of $600.00 per shipped carton, with the exception of Great Britain which allows a maximum of $1200.00. United Parcel Service (UPS) has a maximum of declared invoiced value per shipment. Return to Top Hold Policy: Local customers (within 100 miles of the store): models may be held for 3 days. Non-local customers living within the continental United States: items may be held a maximum of 5 days. For all other customers outside of the mainland United States: items may be held a maximum of 7 days. Holds may not be extended beyond specified days A name, address and phone number must be provided when placing an item on hold.Return to Top Consignment We can handle either large collections or individual models. (see also purchase and trade terms). Customer decides on selling price or we can set a price for the customer. We charge only 20% consignment fee in cash or 15% if taken in trade! A combination of cash and trade can be made, but will be prorated. Payment can be made 30 days after model has been sold (in case of return). We require that the model or book be in our possession and be left for a minimum 90 day period. We take care of all shipping and packaging and any charge card fees. Please Note: We will do any repairs required to make the models saleable. There is no charge for minor re pairs and/or adjustments. Any more involved repairs will be charged back to the seller by way of deducing the charge from the proceeds due the seller. Return to Top Purchase Trades: Where a consignment item has not sold and you (the owner of the piece) still wish to dispose of the item, Bruce's Train Shop may, in some cases, make an offer to purchase or trade for store owned items. We can handle either large collections or individual models. We can work trades against almost any non-consignment item (and some consignment items also!). Trades and trade values will vary according to our own present inventory, specific needs, and our projected saleability of the given model. Please note that value is deducted for the following:

UPS will notify Bruce?s Train Shop to issue a call tag at our (shipper) end. UPS will then pick up the shipping materials, the damaged model and the box from your address. This institutes the claim settlement.
